Balance Parent Training
The Balance Parent Training is designed for:
- Parents of individuals aged 18 months to teens who are not displaying aggression or property destruction, but need assistance in generalizing skills and enhancing any of the following abilities at home.
- Parents of teens seeking to mend their relationship with their adolescents.
- Parents with children transitioning out of ABA and aiming to reinforce their ABA skills

What is Balance Parent Training?
The Balance Program offers an exemplary approach to help individuals with autism develop crucial communication and coping skills before problematic behaviors emerge. This program is designed for parents to implement within the home, under the guidance of a qualified expert. Its flexible nature allows for a personalized approach, meeting the distinct needs of each individual and family.
Specifically, Balance seeks to:
- Foster quality playtime between young children and their parents or establish enjoyable interactions between parents and teens.
- Encourage consistent response when names are called.
- Teach communication responses, from simple to complex, when requesting access to a desired items or activities.
- Generalize the use of such communication responses.
- Instruct on a toleration response to use when access is denied, an activity is interrupted, or an undesired task is assigned.
- Broaden the use of the toleration response.
- Systematically guide them in performing household, family, and age-appropriate activities.
- Ensure the above skills are carried out accurately and without problem behaviors.
- Generalize and maintain the application of all the aforementioned skills.
How is Balance Parent Training Offered?
For parents: Balance is taught directly to parents, allowing them to work with their child in the comfort of their home. The service requires a weekly meeting of at least 1 hour with an expert BCBA. Additionally, parents should be committed to practicing the taught skills daily for 5-30 minutes, twice a day. These sessions must be recorded and uploaded daily to our HIPAA-compliant secure data system. The assigned BCBA will review the videos regularly and offer feedback for improvement.
